I’ve settled into my new apartment and am enjoying the new environment. Missing the sun but spring is right around the corner. Newest piece of furniture is a 3D printer. My girlfriend is actually kind of excited about it, too.

Climbing

• Have not visited the climbing gym in a while but I’m back in the bouldering gym on a regular basis
• Did a rappelling course a couple of weeks ago
• After crossing the Watzmann - Germany’s third highest peak - and the Hochkalter - Germany’s fifth highest peak - with a friend of mine, we ended up crossing Jubiläumsgrat from the Zugspitze - the highest peak in Germany - to the Alpspitze in August last year with another friend
  • The two of us will be back in the same region in April to cross the Waxenstein which is a bit more technical than the previous two crossings

Embedded programming

• Since I’m also running Home Assistant now, I’ve been trying to get back into some embedded programming
  • Ended up using ESP Home for most of my projects, e.g. to integrate my garage door opener with Home Assistant
• Ordered some custom PCBs to make my dumb IKEA air purifier smart
• Tried to design a custom PCB for my garage door opener but failed miserably as RF isn’t that easy, apparently

Skydiving

• Winter break, not much happening
• Not enjoying Skydiving as much as I used to 😔

3D printing

• I’m now the owner of a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon
• Have previously printed a few things for my apartment and some parts for my projects in the local MakerSpace
